Chapter.10: S.A. Needs New Leaders and Dreamers

New leaders to Inspire Us with Confidence & Speak Truth to Power after 2024 April National Elections

Dear South Africans,

We are facing a crisis, a challenge unlike any we have seen before. But I want to remind you that this is not the first time our nation has been tested. We have faced adversity before, and we have always come out stronger on the other side.

We have faced challenges as a nation, and we have always overcome them. We have faced the June 16, 1976, riots, war and strife between the Inkatha Freedom party and the ANC in the 80's and many other challenges. We have always come out stronger because of our resilience, our determination and our unity.

We are a country of fighters, a country of dreamers, a country of doers. We are South Africa, and we will not be defeated by this crisis. By load shedding, crime, corruption, nepotism, job losses or political instability, “Push for Change”.

  • We will not be defeated by fear, or by division, or by hate. We will not be defeated by those who seek to divide us or to weaken our resolve. We will not be defeated by those who seek to exploit our pain and our uncertainty for their own gain.

  • We will rise above this crisis. We will rise above the fear and the division. We will rise above the hate and the bigotry. We will rise above the politics of division and the politics of fear. We will rise above corruption, intimidation and callous criminal cartels and petty theft of our capital and national resources.

  • We will rise above this crisis because we are a  united South Africa. We will unite by our shared values, our shared dreams and our shared hopes. We are united by our belief in freedom, in justice, in equality and in opportunity. We are united by our love for this great country and our determination to make it a better place for all.

So, I ask each one of you, fellow citizens, to join me in this call. I ask you to stand with me, to work with me, to fight with me. I ask you to be the best version of yourselves. To be the fighters, the dreamers, the doers that you are. Together, we will conquer this crisis. Together, we will rise above it. Together, we will make South Africa livable again if we “Push for Change”.

  1. We must also recognize that we are not alone in this fight. We are part of a global community, and we must work together to solve the problems that affect us all. Corruption, poverty, hijacking of empty buildings, and injustice are not just our problems, they are the problems of the lady SAZAR. We must be willing to lend a hand to our neighbours and to work with other professionals to bring together order.

  1. We must also acknowledge that the crisis we face is not just a political crisis, it is a moral crisis. The inequality and injustice that plagues our society is a moral failing. We must work to correct this, to build a society that is truly just and accountable for all. This is not just a matter of politics; it is a matter of right and wrong.

  2. We must also understand that the road ahead will not be easy. There will be setbacks and obstacles, there will be times when it seems that all is lost. But we must not give up. We must keep fighting; we must keep pushing forward.

  1. We must also remember that real change takes time, it takes effort, it takes sacrifice. But it is worth it, because the prize is nothing less than a better future for our children, for tax and ratepayers and for all the generations to come.

  1. We must also remember that we are not just a nation, we are a people. We come from different backgrounds, different cultures, different experiences. But we are united by our common humanity, by our shared aspirations, by our shared hopes. We must celebrate our diversity, we must respect our differences, we must learn from one another. Because it is only by embracing our diversity that we will truly be able to achieve our common goals if we “Push for Change”.

Finally, fellow citizens, we must remember that we are not just a people, we are a nation. We are a nation of laws, of institutions, of traditions. We are a nation that is built on the principles of freedom, of democracy, of justice. We must protect and defend these principles, we must uphold them, we must live by them. Because it is only by living by these principles that we will truly be able to achieve our common goals, and to build a better future for all let us “Push for Change”.

We have discussed the crisis we are facing and the importance of speaking truth to power and demanding change from our leaders. But it is not enough to simply talk about change, we must also take action to make it happen.

One practical solution is to engage our communities and empower them to take action. We must work together to build a strong grassroots movement that can “push for change” from the bottom up. We must organize and mobilize our communities to demand accountability from our leaders and to push for policies that benefit the people.

Another alternative solution is to use “our voices and our votes to make change happen”. We must make sure that our leaders are held accountable for their actions and that they are held to the highest standards of integrity and morality. We must vote out of office those who fail to live up to these standards and we must vote in those who will work for drastic change.

We must also use our economic power to make change happen. We must support businesses and organizations that align with our values, and we must speak out against those that do not. We must also use our power as consumers to demand products and services that are sustainable and ethically produced.

Another solution is to invest in education and capacity building, to empower our communities with the knowledge and skills they need to “effect change”. By investing in education, we can ensure that our citizens are equipped to make informed decisions, to be engaged citizens and active participants in the political process, in order to “Push for Change”.

Finally, we must remember that the solutions to these problems are not only political, but also societal, and based on loyalty to party-political-comradery. We must work to build a more inclusive, tolerant and compassionate society that is grounded in empathy, understanding, and mutual respect. We must actively work to dismantle the systems of oppression and discrimination that have been holding us back, and we must actively work to build a society that is truly just and equitable for all.

Together, we can make change happen. Together, we can build a better future for ourselves, for our children and for all the generations to come. In closing let me remind you about these 5 important traits of leadership you might inherit or possess with your calling if you act with coherence and a positive attitude to make things happen instead of wondering what happened!
