Chapter.3: The Art of Legacy Building: Inspiring Positive Change

Legacy building is a lifelong journey, far removed from the construction of mere physical structures. It is a testament to individuals who aspire to leave an indelible mark, a LIFE that endures beyond their time on this earth. True legacies are shaped by individuals with the power to influence others positively.

The essence of legacy building lies in transforming societal perspectives and finding strength in overcoming challenges. It is an endeavour to serve selflessly, with unwavering commitment. Building legacies is not merely a vocation; it's a lifelong pursuit to make the world better. (Everyone is accountable to the Creator when their Life’s episode comes to an end).

Historically, many powerful self made millionaires' and true game changers  have affected and impacted our lives and the world by forging creative solutions to make the world a better place. These individuals and families are  in business not for themselves, but for others. Figures like Mr. Richard Maponya, Dr. Mutsuenyane, Pam Golding, Kaizer Motaung, Arnold Chatz, Irvin Khoza, and Raymond Ackerman have carved their names in history through their business endeavours, to name just a few in the private sector. They are examples of integrity and leadership far from the current tenderpreneurs of the ANC BBEE government robbery schemes and institutions of corruption..

Legacy builders come in various forms – from athletes like Tiger Woods to playwrights like Gibson Kente and global icons like Michael Jackson. Bonang Matheba, Charlize Theron, and Trevor Noah stand tall as individuals who've conquered adversity to make their mark on the world. Their integrity and self-respect have propelled them to success, inspiring others to follow suit.

Many of these trailblazers began with nothing, some even working out of their home garages. They defied traditional expectations and used their skills, talents, and creativity to achieve the seemingly impossible. Just like Cassius Clay (Muhammad Ali) and Basetsana Kumalo, they created life-changing empires, setting industry standards and exceeding our expectations. Who in the ANC has a history of life-changing-talents and skills to make South Africa better than it was after 1994?

Legacy building is not a quick endeavour, akin to Rome, it isn't constructed in a day. The worlds of film, sports, literature, music, and television are no different from entrepreneurial ventures in their quest to inspire positive change. Figures like, Barry Jenkins, Spike Lee, Mati Diop, J.K. Rowling, Vin Diesel, Mark, Paul Kagame, Kwame Nkrumah, Kofi Annan, Ellen Johnson Sirleaf, Jomo Kenyatta, Jackie Robinson, Zuckerberg, Nicholas Cage, Denzel Washington, and Tyler Perry have left an indelible impact on our world, providing hope, self-expression, and dreams. Legacy builders have been instrumental in shaping our reality. E.g. Google founders - Larry Page & Sergey Brin, inspiring us to overcome challenges, and addressing issues like transforming the internet. They have earned our respect and deserve our support.

Legacy builders aren't appointed by others but rise through their unwavering commitment, inspired by their inner drive and a higher calling. They channel their abilities, talents, and gifts to make a difference in the lives of those they encounter. The world revolves around people who respond to a higher calling without desire to enrich themselves with wealth stolen from the coffers of a nation.

To achieve fame and wealth, one must work tirelessly with a bit of luck. Bill Gates, Oprah Winfrey, Martin Luther King Jr., Malcolm X, and Steve Jobs are testament to the power of honest hard work. Being fortunate requires not just luck but also a vision to use one's wealth and influence for the greater good.

True happiness cannot be bought or achieved through shortcuts, as exemplified by some politicians. The ANC, despite its privilege, must not take its position for granted. To lead, they must honour their promises and deliver on their mandate. True leadership can not be bought from a supermarket like most ANC politicians would like to believe in buying people's votes with cheap grocery parcels. This is what happens when a government like the ANC leaders borrows its power. Their "collective responsibility" philosophy will undeniably bring them all down collectively, as they wish.
